Offering Hope to Inmates and their Families Year Round!
Our Compassionate Gifts programs exists to provide helpful necessities to families of incarcerated individuals, from school supplies, Thanksgiving baskets, cleaning products and non-perishable food. CPO houses a complete food pantry of non-perishable food, as well as cleaning products, personal care items, and select household goods. These items are available to families of current inmates, and are distributed to families through the Angels of Hope program. Volunteers local to the food pantry, housed in South Holland, regularly process incoming food, maintain existing products for food safety and expiration, and pack bags of food to be delivered by Angels of Hope and other volunteers.
Goal: to provide basic necessities to families of inmates in a time they may not be able to provide for themselves.
School Supplies
Families of currently incarcerated individuals request ad receive per-packaged boxes of school necessities, based on grade levels. Partnering with Elim Christian Services, CPO delivers hundreds of school supply boxes each year.
Food Pantry
We currently serve more than 200 families throughout the Chicagoland area, providing food deliveries and pop-up food distribution events throughout the year. None of this could be done without generous sponsors and plenty of donors. If you or an organization you are a part of would like to contribute, there are a number of ways to get involved!
1. Individual donations can be dropped off at our office or with a CPO staff member at any time!
2. Organizations who would like to host a short-term food drive can collect food and CPO will arrange a pick up date.
3. CPO will come to your church or organization for a one day, drive up food donation event!
