Chaplaincy

Bringing the Love of Christ  Behind Bars

Meeting People Where They Are—with the Love of Christ

Our chaplaincy program places trained CPO staff and volunteers directly inside Cook County Jail, Westville Correctional Facility, Joliet Juvenile Detention Center, and Will County Adult Detention Center.

Through regular visits, Bible studies, and one-on-one mentoring, we build trust, speak truth, and walk with incarcerated men and women in some of the darkest seasons of their lives.

Our goal isn’t just spiritual encouragement—it’s long-term discipleship that continues beyond the prison walls.

Programs

Through our Chaplaincy services, we provide consistent, Christ-centered care to incarcerated and formerly incarcerated individuals, offering biblical discipleship, spiritual mentorship, and practical
guidance both inside prison walls and as they transition home.

Discipleship Program

In our Discipleship Program, CPO chaplains and volunteers lead Bible studies, spiritual growth sessions, and ongoing mentorship inside Cook County Jail, Westville Correctional Facility, River Valley Juvenile Detention Center and Will County Adult Correctional Facility.

We don’t just preach—we build relationships, nurture Christ-like character, and walk through Scripture together. In a setting often marked by isolation and despair, the Discipleship Program brings light, truth, and transformation.

Life Learning Program

Life Learning Communities are located in Cook County Jail and Westville Correctional Facility. Participants commit to living by biblical principles, attending daily classes, and practicing accountability on the cell block.

Through this program, men learn how to apply God’s Word to real struggles—like anger, forgiveness, relationships, and purpose.

Organic Mentoring

Transitioning from incarceration back into society is filled with challenges—barriers like unemployment, unstable housing, and the absence of a supportive community leave many at risk of returning to old cycles.

Our Organic Mentoring program walks alongside individuals as they navigate this difficult journey, providing holistic support that addresses their spiritual, emotional, and practical needs.

Our commitment is to foster lasting transformation by helping each person build a new foundation for life, faith, and purpose.

From Brokenness to Redemption: Michael’s Story

Michael’s life was marked by abandonment, trauma, and unimaginable loss.

But through the Life Learning program—and the love of Christ—his story didn’t end in despair. Watch how God used faithful chaplains, intentional discipleship, and your support to bring healing, hope, and lasting transformation.

"For me, I met God. That's what I remember about the Life Learning Program."

Ways to Support Us

Be Part of a Life Transformed

When you support our prison chaplaincy, you’re fulfilling Jesus’ call in Matthew 25:36—to visit and love the forgotten.

Together, we share the Gospel, build relationships, and walk with inmates toward transformed. Your generosity allows chaplains to step into dark places with the light of Jesus. When you give, pray, or advocate, you’re fulfilling the call of Matthew 25:36—and helping transform lives from the inside out.

Give Today

Be the reason someone hears the Gospel and receives life-changing support. Your gift today equips us to meet people in prison and beyond with the love of Christ and the tools to start again.

Planned Giving

Leave a legacy that reflects your faith. Through planned giving, you can help future generations experience hope, restoration, and the power of the Gospel—long after today.
