The Program
Our next cohort starts:
Spring Cohort – April 20 through July 2
Summer Cohort – late-July through mid-October.
Intro to Construction Trades program is an 11-week course designed to prepare you for union entrance exams and careers in the trades. A weekly stipend is provided to support you as you transition into a new career.
Our programs include both hands-on training and classroom-based training. Through our program, students will be building the skills needed for success in the construction industry. In addition to technical training, participants will receive training in and will earn OSHA 10, NCCER Core, and CPR/AED/First Aid certifications, making you workforce-ready and ready to take union exams/aptitude tests.
Eligibility
To enroll in our FREE program, you must meet 5 requirements:

Illinois Resident, with proper proof.

18+ Years old by program start date

Have a valid driver’s license, or be able to get one within 30 days.

High school Level Education by means of a Diploma, GED, or HiSET.

Have an interest in starting a new career in the trades

You must bring your IL State ID/Drivers License, Birth Certificate, SSC, and proof of High School level education to the information session.
Illinois Resident

High School Diploma, HiSET or G.E.D.
Valid Driver's License
Ability to get one within 30 days of class start.
Interest in Construction & Building Trades
Such as electrical, welding, and carpentry.
18 years or older
By the first day of class.
